In the mean time, not much sewing on my part. My sewing room is much larger than the sewing room in Toledo. I've almost got it to where I want it. I've incorporated my desktop computer into the room. Now when I want to print Inklingo I can do it in my sewing room and make the cuts right here instead of going from computer room to sewing room. All in one now. I can't wait until life settles down a bit and I can get to all the Inklingo projects I have in mind.

I can now write my blog surrounded by my fabric.

About a year ago, I'd wrapped my fabric around Comic Book Boards and arranged by color. This made them much easier to transport and put them back up when I started to organize my sewing room.

I've also began to organize my threads.

My home is starting to come together. I've found some time to work on my projects. I just finished the last border on my Celtic Solstice.
This is the quilt top without the last border. I'll try to get a better photo of the entire top soon but right now the house is in chaos. We are having the plumbing repaired and screens put in enclosing our front porch and garage today. Noise level is pretty high and we have the water shut off. Aarh!
And just a bottom note: To all my wonderful friends in the Toledo area. I miss you all terribly. This was the worst part of the move...leaving you all behind. Love and hugs to you.
Looks great! Moving is so much work and leaving behind friends is hard. Best wishes to you finding a new quilting community to enjoy. Happy Stitching!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dawn. As soon as all this house reconstruction is finished, I'll begin to explore quilting groups near me.
DeleteYour new room looks wonderful and I love how you wrapped your fabric, so much easier to see what you have immediately.
ReplyDeleteI empathise about leaving friends, although I was very excited and happy to move house, l too, miss my old friends. I hope you will soon meet up with some like-minded stitching ladies and form a new circle of friends.
Best of luck with your renovations, I hope you will be able to retreat to your new room when the dust and upheaval gets too much. best wishes Kath
Kath thank you. I got the comic board idea from one of the quilting forums I'm on. It makes a huge difference when you need to find a fabric for a project. I'm looking forward to getting this house in order so I can get on to my quilting.
DeleteIt will be worth all the dust and noise when the renos are done. Awesome that you have a larger sewing room ... with your computer right there with you. Good luck on finding new quilty friends.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy. I love having my computer right there with my sewing. A perfect pairing. :)
Deletelove your new room. glad the move is settling in. I too use comic book boards for some of my pieces that are large enough to wrap and I'm thinking of cutting some in half or quarters for smaller pieces. i will be starting a new Inklingo project soon too - one with the fancy Dresden Plates - looking forward to seeing your projects take shape.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I have Fancy Dresden Plates collection too. Love to see how your project comes out. Good idea to cut the comic boards in half for smaller pieces.
DeleteYour new sewing room looks absolutely wonderful! How great to be surrounded by your fabric on display like that - talk about inspiration!! Your Celtic Solstice top looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what your next project will be.
Thank you Cindi. I love my fabric all in one place and totally visible. My next project should be to hand quilt the Solstice but with Linda coming out with new collections it's hard to stay focused.
DeleteWhoops dear Cathi, that was an auto correct!
